The Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources of North Macedonia will expand its cooperation with Balkan Green Energy News to advance the energy transition and strengthen regional cooperation. The new Memorandum of Understanding was signed today in Skopje by Minister Sanja Božinovska and Managing Director of Balkan Green Energy News Branislava Jovičić.

The framework includes also an institutional partnership with Belgrade Energy Forum, the flagship conference of the media and event platform. Minister Božinovska will participate in the ministerial panel at BEF 2026.

Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources of North Macedonia Sanja Božinovska signed a memorandum of understanding today in Skopje with Balkan Green Energy News, a media and event platform which includes Belgrade Energy Forum (BEF) – Southeast Europe’s premier annual B2B and B2G conference.

The document upgrades the current cooperation and establishes a framework of support for advancing the energy transition, investments and the green economy, as well as strengthening regional cooperation and supporting the European integration process of North Macedonia. The ministry pointed out that the arrangement envisions coordinated activities to promote strategic priorities in the energy sector, exchange information and experiences, support reform processes and enhance cooperation with partners from the region and the European Union.

Božinovska: International visibility of energy reform processes is crucial

Minister Božinovska stressed that establishing such partnerships represents an important step toward strengthening institutional cooperation and improving the country’s position in regional and European energy initiatives.

“Regional cooperation and a joint approach to the development of the energy sector are key to ensuring a stable, sustainable and competitive energy system. We are grateful for the continuous support and professional approach in promoting the progress and reforms that we are implementing. Transparency and international visibility of energy reform processes are crucial,” she stated.

Under the memorandum, the ministry also provided support to the BEF 2026 event in Belgrade as an institutional partner. Its high-level delegation will participate in the program of this year’s edition.
