Sungrow has been selected to equip Project Blue, Albania’s largest privately developed solar park, with a battery energy storage system of 130 MWh. The project doesn’t benefit from any government subsidies.

Matrix Konstruksion and Blessed Investment Group have been expanding their Project Blue photovoltaic complex in Fier in western Albania in phases. Sungrow, a global provider of inverters and energy storage systems, announced that it signed an agreement for the installation of a BESS of 130 MWh at the solar park of 185 MW in peak capacity.

The deal concerns 26 PowerTitan 2.0 battery units and 13 MVS3460-LS units. Sungrow’s liquid-cooled BESS solution enhances grid flexibility and facilitates the integration of renewable power, the update reads.

Project Blue in Albania is set to expand by 164 MW of PV peak capacity and an 80 MW battery storage system

The next phase of Project Blue will add 164 MW of solar capacity in peak terms and an 80 MW / 180 MWh battery system, the company added.

“Project Blue demonstrates how strong partnerships, innovative technology, and a clear vision can accelerate renewable energy deployment at scale. It will support Albania’s clean energy transition, strengthen independence, and help meet the growing demand for clean electricity across the region,” said Country Manager of Sungrow Italy Massimo Bracchi.

Project Blue is jointly owned and developed by Albania-based Matrix Konstruksion and Blessed Investment Group.

As of June 2026, Sungrow has installed over 1.1 TW of power electronic converters worldwide.

Founded in Tirana in 1995, Matrix Konstruksion delivers turnkey construction and energy projects.

Blessed Investment Group has transitioned from advisory toward principal investing. Over the past two decades, it developed a portfolio that includes renewable energy, real estate and tourism.
