Green for Growth Fund (GGF) selected 15 finalists of the clim@ competition who will present their ideas to a high-level panel of judges and experts on the June 25 in Frankfurt.

260 applications from 80 countries were submitted for the competition until the deadline which expired on April 15.

The successful entries – BEAD, Effa, Epicellulyse XT, Hotel Energy Portal (HEP), KB-Walkoma SRL (under its new platform ResursConect), Solagro Smart Recycler, SunCity, Tagaddod, Biomyc, Nüwiel, Sun for Schools, Mestic, R3FIBER, cKers Finance and Africa GreenTec – come from 12 different countries and have developed innovative, high-impact solutions in the fields of sustainable energy or resource efficiency, GGF said in a statement.

The finalists will have the chance to pitch their entries in Frankfurt to a high-level panel of judges and an audience of investors, financial institutions and climate action specialists in order to earn a position in the top 3 based on the innovation, impact and business case of their entry. Those three grand finalists will then have the chance to present their ideas to the Green for Growth Fund’s Sustainable Future Forum in front of 250 leaders in the climate and sustainable finance communities who will participate in the voting for EUR 30,000 in awards.

Competition is organized by Finance in Motion GmbH on behalf of the GGF and sponsored by the European Commission and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
