The Association for Sustainable Development (ASOR), with the support of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is organizing on Tuesday a workshop New Energy Regulatory Framework for Serbia: recommendations, obligations, implications, dedicated to industry representatives.

ASOR reminds that adoption of the new regulatory framework in the energy sector is expected soon, so it is very important for the business community to be more involved in its preparation, as well as to have representatives in working groups.

This is the main goal of Mobilization and Inclusion of Stakeholders in the Process of Creating Serbia’s Sustainable Energy Policy project, within which this workshop, the second in a row, is to take place (Agenda).

The first workshop was dedicated to civil society organizations, the second will be organized with the business community, while the third should present the conclusions of the first two to decision makers.

The project is implemented in cooperation with the European Climate Foundation.

“Considering the changes that we expect in Serbia’s energy policy in the near future, including the new regulatory framework for renewable energy sources after the expiration of the feed-in tariffs model, as well as defining the framework for stronger citizen participation in the energy transition in Serbia (opening of the market for prosumers and aggregators), this second workshop aims to launch a dialogue with local industry representatives on how to invest in sustainable energy facilities, and to involve them in the process of making recommendations for changes in energy regulation in order to incentivize development of renewables,” ASOR said.

A few weeks ago, Rastislav Kragić, a representative of the Ministry of Mining and Energy, noted that the decree on incentive measures for renewable energy sources expires at the end of this year, and the Ministry is already working on a new package of measures.

The workshop is intended primarily for representatives of companies that develop or plan to get involved in the development of renewable energy projects in Serbia. It will be held in premises of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce in Resavska Street in Belgrade on Tuesday, May 8, from 10 am to 2 pm.
