RatedPower, a leading provider of software for solar plant design and optimization, is organizing a free webinar on November 18 to explain how grid constraints, permitting, and land availability influence co-located solar and battery project design, and how investors and developers can use its software to make better decisions and avoid issues such as financing delays, increased costs, and reduced returns. The webinar, titled “Financial viability of co-located PV + BESS projects: a Balkans case study,” will feature a speaker from GMS Consult, a Serbian client of RatedPower.

Grid constraints, permitting, and land availability often surface late in a co-located solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) project, when changing the layout is expensive. They can reshape the business case, delay financing, or cut returns, RatedPower explains in the webinar announcement.

At the online event on November 18, Vladimir Antušević, Senior Electrical Engineer at Serbia-based renewable energy design and consulting firm GMS Consult, will share his experience with RatedPower software in his day-to-day work, including how quickly design changes can be evaluated.

According to Antušević, RatedPower helps engineers and developers make key technical and economic decisions from the very beginning.

RatedPower’s Emil Trepin and Matteo Menazzi, for their part, will demonstrate how different PV + BESS configurations affect performance, costs, and financial viability, using RatedPower and the Power Analyst platform.

By bringing both perspectives together, the webinar will offer attendees the opportunity to learn how to assess the influence of grid constraints, permitting, and land availability on PV + BESS project design; explore different co-located PV and BESS configurations and their impact on project viability; connect technical design decisions with financial analysis; evaluate project performance and costs using RatedPower and Power Analyst; and make more informed decisions throughout the project development process.

It is vital to understand the constraints early in the project development process

“The earlier you understand how grid, land, and permitting constraints affect a project, the better positioned you are to protect its financial viability,” says Emil Trepin, Account Executive at RatedPower.

Matteo Menazzi, Technical Advisor at RatedPower, explains that comparing PV and BESS configurations early helps teams understand how design decisions translate into performance, costs, and overall project viability.

Registrations for the webinar are now open, and those who cannot attend live will receive a recording of the event, according to the announcement.

RatedPower is part of Enverus, a global software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for the energy sector. It offers a one-stop cloud-based solution for PV plant and BESS design and engineering, as well as hybrid systems.
