The City of Križevci, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Association of Cities organized a presentation of results of energy advisors for the energy-poor households, which is carried out in the Koprivnica-Križevci County from March when the 13 experts were employed through a public works programme.

The project is co-funded by the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund (FZOEU).

“In the last three months of the project, our energy advisors visited and consulted more than 400 households in the city and surrounding areas. To our satisfaction, people accepted advisors visits very well and now look forward to getting free energy-saving equipment,” said Ljiljana Stojsavljević Križan, head of the Energy Management Department at the City of Križevci, and added that it is planned for them to visit and advise about 500 households.

“The potential for the replication of this initiative in other communities is great. Cities today can and should plan such initiatives as an efficient and cost-effective way to help their citizens to reduce bills for energy and water, but also to boost local employment. The cities have European Union funds for that,” said Zoran Kordić, project manager at UNDP Croatia, at the presentation of the possibilities for replication of the project in other communities.
