Germany’s development agency GIZ called on firms, educational institutions and institutes in Serbia to prepare offers for producing a grid integration study for prosumers.

GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) is implementing a project called Promotion of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in Serbia, which was commissioned by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The goal is to improve the legal, institutional and technical framework for the promotion of sustainable energy technologies. The main focus is on enhancing the usage of solar energy in decentralized energy production by supporting the prosumer approach.

Germany’s development agency is currently looking for a company, educational institution or institute to assess the readiness of each part of the electricity distribution grid to connect prosumer installations, mainly rooftop solar power units. In the grid integration study for prosumers in Serbia, the contractor will be tasked with assessing the distribution grid, pointing out possible bottlenecks and recommending improvements while providing a rough cost assessment for the period until 2030.

The contractor will have a task to recommend grid improvements and estimate costs for the period until 2030.

Entities registered in Serbia that are interested in the project should provide their full name, address, email address and number in the commercial register. The application needs to include a brief profile including annual turnover and the average number of employees in the last three years, relevant experience in the Western Balkan region in the last three years and experience with international organizations and donors, GIZ said.

The candidates have to submit a list of project references in the field of assessment of the existing electricity distribution grid in the last three years with a minimum commission value of EUR 50,000.

The public tender announcement is for qualifications – eligible candidates will be invited to send offers

Responses are submitted in English by November 9 at the latest in an envelope marked ’Grid integration study for prosumers 83424622 do not open until 10.11.2022’.

GIZ invited applicants to send the documentation to GIZ Office Belgrade, Brzakova 20, 11040 Belgrade. The agency said it would invite all qualified organizations to submit an offer via email.

The renewables and energy efficiency promotion project in Serbia aims, among other objectives, to establish useful and comprehensive data management system for renewable energy. GIZ said it is conducting pilot projects to help develop standardized technical and financial models for households, homeowner associations, small and medium-sized enterprises, public buildings and other future participants in the market.
