E.ON lands 145 contracts in Romania to install small solar power plants

E.ON Energie România established 145 partnerships with companies and institutions to build photovoltaic systems worth a total of EUR 13 million. They will be able to use the energy and sell the surplus to power suppliers.

In recent months, a subsidiary of German-based E.ON in Romania signed agreements with industrial and institutional clients for 14.4 MW in solar power plants. The overall value of the contracts with 145 partners is EUR 13 million, the firm said.

The solutions will turn them into prosumers – companies, state authorities and households can sell the electricity that they don’t consume to selected supplies. The said on-grid solar power plants with a capacity between 33 kW and 100 kW will be able to cash in on surplus energy at a regulated price. E.ON Energie România also has an electricity and gas supply and distribution business in the country.

Partnerships for environment, savings

The firm’s services are also available for households. “We support companies, institutions and residential customers in Romania in becoming prosumers. We are here to offer them energy solutions adapted to their needs. Each partnership concluded for the production of solar energy means another step for a cleaner environment and important savings by securing own sources of green energy, but also a source of income,” said General Manager Cătălin Iordache.

The projects entail 38,000 photovoltaic panels with a nameplate production of 18 GWh per year, matching the needs of 12,500 homes in Romania. The company said it would deliver on the contracts by year-end.

E.ON Romania offers turnkey solutions

E.ON Energie România said it supports the projects in all stages, from planning to the operation of the photovoltaic systems.

Within E.ON România, which coordinates the activities of the E.ON Group in the country, customers also have access to lighting, heating and airconditioning and electric mobility solutions and possibilities to install combined heat and power (CHP) plants.
