PPC Renewables, the renewable energy arm of the Public Power Corporation (PPC), has announced tenders for the construction of two solar power plants in the municipality of Megalopolis in southern Greece,  with a total installed capacity of 50 MW.

The company now has only 1 MW of installed capacity in 28 photovoltaic installations, while the total installed capacity of all green power plants is 198 MW.

The deadline to submit offers is September 30, according to the public call.

The scope of the project includes planning, design, civil engineering works, supply, transportation, installation and operation for two PV plants, with a nameplate capacity of 39 ΜW and 11 MW, at the location of Megales Lakkes in the Megalopolis municipality, as well as a 33kV/150kV substation.

The total indicative budget of the project is EUR 30.7 million

According to the public call, the total indicative budget of the project is EUR 30.7 million. The contract awarding criterion is the most economically advantageous offer, based on the best balance of quality and price.

The contracts will be signed by the companies Arkadikos Ilios I and Arkadikos Ilios II which are 100% subsidiaries of PPC Renewables.

The company has been investing heavily in solar energy in the last few months. It is in various phases of implementing a 230 MW solar complex project in Greece’s northern lignite mining area. A month ago, PPC Renewables signed the first deal for solar power plants at coal pits.
