The Slovenian transmission system operator completed the auction for baseload products it would buy for the next three calendar years. ELES said suppliers offered electricity at EUR 49.5 per MWh to EUR 55.7 per MWh for the company to cover losses.

After a public call, ELES conducted an electronic auction for power suppliers in order to make up for future losses in transmission. The Slovenian company sought baseload products of 10 MW for 2021 and 11 MW for the two years after that.

The national transmission system operator (TSO) is responsible for the losses, according to the country’s law. The marginal price for next year came in at EUR 49.75 per MWh, compared to EUR 52.08 per MWh and EUR 52.6 MWh for delivery in 2022 and 2023, respectively.

On a rounded basis, the offers ranged between EUR 49.5 per MWh and EUR 55.7 per MWh, the aggregated curves show.

The transactions were prepared with BSP Energy Exchange via the Euro Market trading platform. The auction was open for legal entities and natural persons that have a balance agreement or a contract for the settlement of imbalances with the balance responsible party.
