The local waste management plan is a basic, strategic document in this area which will define the goals of waste management in accordance with the law on waste management and the national waste management strategy.

The plan will also include data on the types, quantities, and origin of overall waste generated, used or disposed on the territory of the City of Belgrade, the call reads.

The development of a plan includes:

  • Strategic impact assessment of the local waste management plan for the period 2021-2030 and
  • Development of a local waste management plan for the period 2021-2030.

According to the tendering documentation, bearing in mind that in 2017 the City of Belgrade signed a public private partnership agreement for the provision of municipal waste treatment and disposal services at the Vinča landfill with a foreign company, and for the purpose of improving and introducing advanced technologies for waste treatment in the future, the local plan must define the construction of certain facilities, in particular:

  • energy to waste;
  • for treatment of construction waste;
  • for treatment of process waters;
  • a new landfill;
  • rehabilitation of the existing landfill.
