Having been at the forefront of the energy transition in the Western Balkans for some time, North Macedonia’s energy sector has generated huge interest among investors. If you are looking to invest, we invite you to submit questions you might have about the existing regulatory framework in the country. Our highly knowledgeable CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz lawyers will then be able to help you steer your development plans by addressing your concerns.

In the ongoing energy crisis, it’s difficult for North Macedonia to cope with high electricity prices, shortage of electricity and other energy sources on the market. Though three medium-sized solar power plants totalling 35 megawatts were commissioned in the last couple of months and more than one gigawatt of solar PV is under development, huge potential for new green capacities remains. Solar and wind power plants, in particular, could help the country bridge the gap between demand and supply and free it from expensive energy imports.

To attract investors’ interest and to help them better understand the country’s regulatory framework and usual market models of project developments, we have invited CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz, one of the leading law offices in the region, to comment on the most common questions investors have for the development of energy projects in North Macedonia.
