Organize your local event with Sustainable Energy Days 2022

Applications for organizing Sustainable Energy Days – activities and events which promote renewable energy and energy efficiency – have been invited. The call is open to local, public and private organizations around the world, who need to apply by September 16, 2022. The events and activities will also be part of the European Sustainable Energy Week – EUSEW 2022.

Anyone can organize a Sustainable Energy Day. The event can be targeted at any audience, as long as the activity highlights the importance of renewable energy and energy efficiency. The invitation is open for events and activities in the local communities and cities, from June to September 2022.

In the context of the European Year of Youth 2022, youth organizations are particularly encouraged to organize a Sustainable Energy Day, within their communities.

The Sustainable Energy Day encourages creative formats and an interactive approach so that the audience and the local community are inspired and play an active role in promoting renewable energy, according to the invitation. Events and activities can also be in the online format.

Sustainable Energy Days can be organized by educational institutions, public institutions, businesses, organizations, partners in EU projects, associations, or citizens. Sustainable Energy Days can be part of an existing project, program, or promotional activity, and interested parties can register for more than one event.

Events are part of EUSEW 2022

By registering an event or activity as a Sustainable Energy Day, it becomes part of the European Sustainable Energy Week – EUSEW 2022. and will be specially featured on the event’s website.

The intention is to show citizens how they can join the clean energy transition

Activities that take place are carried out within local communities. The intention is to show citizens how they can join the clean energy transition, through awareness-raising, public discussions to workshops, and debates, exploring different topics in sessions of different formats and duration.

Sustainable Energy Days are non-profit events, which are organized for at least 10 participants, citizens, or energy actors. Interested parties should check that the event or activity meets the criteria for organizing a Sustainable Energy Day, and can then register under this initiative so that the activity is pinned on an interactive map.

Activities for energy future

In the context of the REPowerEU plan to accelerate the transition of clean energy and increase Europe’s energy independence, Sustainable Energy Days are an opportunity to meet stakeholders who promote energy efficiency and renewable energy sources, learn about successful policies, and inspire innovation to meet the EU’s energy and climate goals, the call said.

Sustainable Energy Days are a key component of the European Sustainable Energy Week – EUSEW 2022, which will take place September 26-30. EUSEW is the largest annual event dedicated to renewable energy sources and efficient energy use in Europe.

EUSEW includes a series of activities aimed at building a secure energy future for Europe. It brings together institutions, private companies, organizations, partners in EU projects, researchers, and other actors in promoting energy transition.
