On behalf of Serbia’s Ministry of Mining and Energy, GIZ has launched a tender for the development of an application for short-term planning of capacities from renewable energy sources.

The development of the application is part of German Development Cooperation’s project Promotion of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in Serbia, commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit – GIZ.

The project provides technical support to the ministry in enhancing decentralized energy production and supporting energy efficiency measures, with the main objective of improving the regulatory, technical and financial foundation for the energy transition in buildings in Serbia.

According to GIZ, the objective of the tendered assignment is the development of an “Application for short term planning of RES (renewable energy sources) capacities,” building on an initial database design.

The application should provide comprehensive planning capabilities

The application should provide comprehensive planning capabilities, including data analysis, spatial capacity displays, and automated report generation.

The project seeks to engage an experienced service provider who will conduct the enhancement of the developed RES Data System, including the development of both frontend and backend applications, GIZ said.

Companies and organizations registered in Serbia are invited to submit their name, address, email address and number in the commercial register, as well as a profile including annual turnover for the past three years, average number of employees for the past three years, and any experience in the region.

The deadline to send responses is August 21

Candidates are required to send a list of project references in the technical field of software development in the energy sector, implementation of the energy management software in the power utility, and development of RES-related feasibility studies, the call reads.

Companies and organizations can respond by August 21 by sending an envelope marked Development of the Application for short term planning of RES capacities for the Ministry of Mining and Energy, 83469944, do not open until 22.08.2024.

They need to send their applications to the GIZ Office in Belgrade, Žorža Klemansoa 19, fourth floor, 11158 Belgrade, Serbia. GIZ said it would invite all qualified organizations to submit an offer via email. All correspondence with GIZ must be in English.
