Enstall is acquiring Germany-based solar mounting systems provider Schletter Group. The company headquartered in Kirchdorf near Munich is dedicated to expanding in South East Europe.

With its acquisition of Schletter Group, rooftop solar mounting solutions provider Enstall is entering the ground-mounted photovoltaics segment. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2024, subject to customary regulatory approvals, the two companies said.

The deal gives Schletter’s current shareholders, Avenue Capital Group and Robus Capital Management, a minority stake in Enstall, which was taken over in 2022 by Blackstone and Rivean Capital.

“Schletter is the long-standing solar mounting champion of Germany, with a strong reputation for quality and innovation. We are looking forward to combining our expertise to achieve our shared vision of accelerating solar adoption to deliver solar, sooner,” Chief Executive Officer of Enstall Stijn Vos said. The company is based in Amsterdam. It operates in North America and Europe.

Founded in 1968 and headquartered in Kirchdorf, Bavaria, Schletter Group has so far supplied solar installations with over 55 GW in total peak capacity worldwide. The company’s product portfolio caters to roofs, façades, carports, and ground-mounted solar installations, either with trackers or as fixed-tilt systems. It secured more than 105 global patents so far.

Partnership with Enstall to strengthen combined innovation capabilities

“Enstall shares our long-term commitment to sustainable solar energy for future generations. Everything we do is guided by our dedication to improving durability, safety, sustainability and the quality of our solar mounting systems, in support of achieving a transition to green energy. The partnership with Enstall will strengthen the combined innovation capabilities, and enable us to serve our customers with a broader portfolio of products and digital solutions globally,” CEO of Schletter Florian Roos stated.

Schletter is ready to significantly scale its operations

The German company stressed its readiness to significantly scale its operations.

Schletter Group participated in the leading regional conference Belgrade Energy Forum 2024 in May, showcasing its solutions and marking its entry into the South East European market.

Slavko Ivanuš, the technical sales manager for the region, told Balkan Green Energy News that Schletter Solar GmbH included the endeavor in its plans for 2024-2025. The company is already present in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Slovenia.

“We believe that Schletter Group is in a position in the solar segment in this region to significantly help investors, with its solutions, to build their solar power plants in line with the highest safety standards and make their work as efficient as possible. In line with our business policy to provide resilience and sustainability to our clients, we already established the fist partnerships with firms in the region and initiated the deliveries for new solar power plants. Firms in the region have commended the guarantee period of 25 years, which is how long Schletter group guarantees for the system that it mounts,” Ivanuš explained.
