As part of the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), a new class of young energy ambassadors has been selected. Thirty young people from across Europe have been allowed to promote various initiatives for clean energy production.
Thirty young professionals aged between 18 and 34 and from different parts of Europe have been selected to be energy ambassadors for the year 2024. The group plays a key role in promoting EUSEW initiatives.
The thirty ambassadors, selected from among 356 applicants, represent 21 European countries, numerous sectors, and key players in the energy sector.
With diverse skills and areas of interest, the new group of young people makes a significant contribution to the European Sustainable Energy Week. By participating in the Young Energy Ambassadors program, they support the efforts of the European Union to become climate-neutral, promote sustainable energy use, and inspire others to do the same.
Among them are individuals who grew up on islands affected by climate change. One participant immediately became a climate protection manager in her local community after graduation.
The interests of young ambassadors cover a wide range of topics
Another ambassador passionately advocates for climate justice. Among the group is a student, a future engineer, who developed a website and algorithm for analyzing energy demand and wind farm performance. The ambassadors’ interests cover a wide range of topics from renewable energy sources, to architecture, energy communities, electric vehicles, and many others.
By participating in activities during EUSEW from June 11 to 13 as well as in preparations, the ambassadors will use social media and their organizations to promote the European Sustainable Energy Week and its outcomes.
They will participate in the European Youth Energy Day, where they will have the opportunity to network with sustainable energy experts.
