German Development Cooperation in Serbia has announced Climate Week, a series of events that will be held from September 16 to September 23. The intention is to raise awareness about environmental protection and climate action.
The Climate Week will commence with Street Fest on September 16 at Veliki park in Kragujevac. The institutions making up German Cooperation in Serbia are the government’s international cooperation agency GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH), KfW Development Bank, and the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany. They will present the results they have achieved in Kragujevac in recent years with their partners.
An outdoor photo exhibition showcasing over 20 years of German support for Serbia in environmental and climate protection will be opened at the Belgrade Fortress – Kalemegdan on September 18.
The German Embassy will organize Climate Talks
Additionally, on the same day, the German Embassy will organize the Climate Talks event from 18:00 to 20:00 at the Cultural Center Grad. The event will feature two-panel discussions titled Air Pollution and Health of the Population, and The Energy Sector and Climate Change, and moderated by Stevan Vujasinović. Head of Development Cooperation at the Embassy of Germany Christian Schilling will open the event.
CPOR is organizing the conference Women of Serbia in Sustainable Energy – Leadership for Energy Transition
The Center for the Promotion of Sustainable Development (Centar za promociju održivog razvoja – CPOR), in partnership with the project Promotion of Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Efficiency in Serbia, is organizing the conference Women of Serbia in Sustainable Energy – Leadership for Energy Transition on Wednesday, September 20, at Dorćol Platz.
The conference will feature panel discussions and presentations of the survey done during the project, as well as an award ceremony for Women Leader in Sustainable Energy 2023. The award has been founded by Center for Promotion of Sustainable Development and GIZ.
Prosumers Day
On September 23, the German Development Cooperation and its implementation partners will celebrate Prosumers Day in Belgrade’s Kalemegdan park behind the Museum of Natural History. The event, under the slogan Friends of Good Energy, will feature stands where visitors can learn more about renewable energy sources.
At the entrance, at the GIZ info corner, citizens will be able to learn about the Promotion of Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Efficiency in Serbia project and the Serbian-German climate partnership.
At the Startup corner, the winning team of the RE-hackathon, S-Futur, will present its software solution for an alarm system for solar panels. Members of the Elektropionir energy cooperative will showcase devices from their rad. I/O.nica workshop program. At the Elektropionir corner, visitors can also learn about the energy cooperative concept.
Visitors will be able to monitor energy production from a solar panel in real time at the Energy Net stand. At the Ask the Prosumer! corner, everyone who is interested in the concept can get first-hand information from one of the first prosumers in Serbia – Nenad Maričić.
A robotics workshop will be held in the children’s corner while a drawing workshop will be organized for the youngest. The event will include the partners’ exhibition stands and a children’s show.
