The application phase for the BASF Innovation Hub is on until September 29. It is a pitch event for the startup community and individual innovators from Central and Southeast Europe.

Innovation Hub 2023 is a regional pitch event hosted by chemicals giant BASF. For a third time in a row, it is bringing the concept to 11 countries of Central and Southeast Europe.

“The climate is changing, so we are on a mission to set the ground for a sustainable future and leading green and digital transitions toward responsible, compatible, and human-centric systemic transformation,” the company said.

Individuals older than 18 years and startups can apply

Individuals older than 18 years and startups, established or in a concept stage, are eligible for participation. They will compete in the segments of cleantech, circularity and farm to fork.

BASF Innovation Hub 2023 – Envision 2050 is open for registration and application until September 29. The cycle is scheduled to conclude on November 23 and 24 with three rounds of local events and one grand finale.

The company said it enabled the acceleration of and development opportunities for startups and innovative ideas. Applicants first need to qualify for a local event and enter the top five within their country.

The jury for each of the three clusters will nominate two candidates for the finale. Bulgaria, Greece and Romania make up one group. Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia are the second cluster. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia and Hungary are in the third.

The winner of the grand finale will receive an initial incentive in the amount of EUR 5,000

The winner of the BASF Innovation Hub 2023 grand finale will receive an initial incentive in the gross amount of EUR 5,000. The organizers said there is a possibility that the company would finance further the selected individual, team of up to five people or startup.
