The Municipality of Centar in Sarajevo said it continues with projects of thermal insulation of schools and kindergartens with façades. After the completion of works in primary school Alija Nametak, preparations at several facilities are underway, according to a statement on the local authority’s website.

The value of the project in elementary Musa Ćazim Ćatić is BAM 150,000 (EUR 77,000), jointly financed by the municipality, with EUR 51,000, and the Ministry of Physical Planning of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the remaining amount. The worth of insulation for kindergarten Šareni voz is estimated at EUR 30,000. After the procedure for the selection of the best bidder, the contracts are expected to be signed in September, the statement said.

The local council adopted its sustainable energy action plan (SEAP) on July 26. The document, which was produced in accordance with the guidelines of the European Commission, contains measures and activities required to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 20% by 2020, and the planned measures included six sectors: construction, transport, public lighting, solid waste, water supply, and renewable energy sources, the statement adds.
