The Municipality of Tomislavgrad called on investors to send bids for the right to build and operate the Orlovac solar power plant, with 102.5 MW in peak capacity.

Tomislavgrad hosts the first two wind farms in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the construction of another one is underway. In the meantime, it became one of the main domestic destinations for investments in renewables. The town is part of Canton 10 of the Federation of BiH, one of the two entities making up the country, the other one being the Republic of Srpska.

The Municipality of Tomislavgrad has just issued a public call for bidding for construction land in its ownership near the village of Eminovo Selo. It envisages the construction of a 102.5 MW peak capacity solar power plant called Orlovac at the location. The connection power is estimated at 92.5 MW.

The investor will be obligated to put the facility into operation within 60 months from signing the contract

The selected firm will also be tasked with building the accompanying infrastructure and pay a one-off fee of EUR 798,000. The announcement notes the entity that receives construction rights is obligated to pay a monthly rent to the owner and that the sum shall be equivalent to the initial lease for the land in question unless a different tariff is determined.

The contract will be for 30 years, with a possibility to extend it, but also the obligation for the facility to be put into operation 60 months at the latest after the contract is signed. Eligible enterprises are registered for electricity production. The deadline expires on March 21.

The land for the Orlovac project consists of two lots on a location called Kovač. They span 82.8 hectares in total.

Of note, a local company called F.L. Wind is preparing to build its Zvizdan solar power plant in the same area.
