Portuguese renewable energy firm Greenvolt is developing two wind farm projects with a combined capacity of 375 MW in the municipality of Aleksinac in the southern part of Serbia.

Greenvolt’s Warsaw-based subsidiary Greenvolt Power, which used to be called V-Ridium, submitted the plans for the Bradarac wind farm, with a capacity of 225 MW, and the Mozgovo wind farm, of 150 MW.

The company is also developing the Lovćenac wind farm project in the municipality of Mali Iđoš in Serbia’s north.

The Municipality of Aleksinac has launched the public consultation process for detailed regulation plans for the two wind farms. The early public review will last until March 21.

Aleksinac has slightly higher wind energy potential compared to the Serbia’s average

According to the Spatial Plan of the Republic of Serbia, the territory of the municipality of Aleksinac is located in the zone of slightly higher wind energy potential than the average in Serbia, the detailed regulation plans read.

Wind intensity at 100 meters above the ground is 225 kWh per square meter in January and 75 kWh to 150 kWh per square meter in July.

The plan for the Bradarac wind power plant covers an area of about 2,560 hectares in the cadastral municipalities of Ćićina, Rutevac, Bradarac, Subotinac, Mozgovo and Bovan.

Preliminary projections foresee 56 wind generators

The plan for the Mozgovo wind farm covers an area of about 1,985 hectares in the cadastral municipalities of Mozgovo and Bovan.

The capacity of 225 MW for Bradarac, and 150 MW for Mozgovo, is set in line with the technical possibilities of the grid, the plans read.

Greenvolt is developing projects with 6.7 GW in total capacity

A phased implementation of the projects is also possible. The plans envisage 56 wind generators, but the number can be defined later, depending on the selected type and individual capacity.

Greenvolt operates in 16 countries.

Its three main areas of business are energy production from biomass, development of wind and solar projects (6.7 GW in the pipeline) and distributed production – development of production for self-consumption and energy communities.

Hi there,
I must say that this title is quite misleading,
Not sure about municipalities of Ćićina, Rutevac, Subotinac, and Bovan, cause we do not have any kind of information about these projects over here in Serbia, But in municipalities Mozgovo and Bradarac these project are in so early stagesof proposal that no one can say for sure that these projects will be accepted at all.
Local people oppose very strongly these projects from very start and with out their approval, these two will fail for sure.
Cheers
