Norwegian transmission system operator Statnett said it plans to award power transmission equipment maker Dalekovod d.d. a deal worth over EUR 65 million. The contract forsees construction of two 420 kV transmission lines.

In a tender for the construction of connectors Namsos–Hofstad– Åfjord and Snilldal–Surna in Norway, with a combined length of 200 kilometres, the Croatian company emerged as the best bidder according to the evaluation criteria. Before the contract is signed, the final decision must be confirmed by Statnett investment committee. Last June the two companies inked a EUR 60 million agreement for the installation of two transmission lines with a length of more than 100 kilometres.

Prior to signing the contract, Dalekovod must get approval from Statnett’s investment committee.

Dalekovod offers services including engineering, manufacturing and construction. The company has specialized in carrying out contract works based on turn-key solutions in the following areas:  0.4 to 1,000 kV transmission lines, sub-stations of all types and voltage levels up to 500 kV, air, underground and marine cables, telecommunications utilities, all types of networks and antennas, production of suspension and jointing equipment for all types of transmission lines and substations, development and construction of all metal parts for roadways especially for road lighting, protective fencing and traffic signalization, tunnel lighting and traffic management, and electrification of railway and tramway lines in cities, the company said on its website.
