Elektromreža Srbije (EMS) named Duško Aničić as its executive director for system and market operation, according to an update in the Serbian business registry.

Electricity transmission system operator EMS promoted its head dispatcher Duško Aničić to the role of executive director for system and market operation, Nova ekonomija reported. It cited a document that the company submitted to the Serbian Business Registers Agency.

Aničić graduated from the University of Belgrade’s School of Electrical Engineering. He became a dispatcher at the National Dispatch Center (NDC) in 2000, where he rose through the ranks. He became the head dispatcher in November 2020, according to information on his LinkedIn profile.

On January 8 of last year, the Continental Europe synchronous area was split into two grid regions for one hour, and Aničić was the representative of EMS in the team of the European Network of Transmission System Operators (ENTSO-E) that produced the incident report, according to his biography.

Aničić is replacing Aleksandar Kurćubić, who died last month.
