Two Chinese companies to build 84 MW wind farm near Tomislavgrad

The construction of wind farm Ivovik, with an installed capacity of 84 MW, is set to begin next year, the Chinese investors said in a recent meeting with the local authorities of the Tomislavgrad municipality. Ivovik, which will cost EUR 130 million to build, will be the biggest wind farm and the largest-ever investment in renewable energy sources in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Wind farm Ivovik will be developed by two Chinese companies – China National Technical Import & Export Corporation and Powerchina Resources Ltd. It will be located on the territoires of Tomislavgrad and Livno.

The Ivovik wind farm’s projected annual electrcity output is 236.6 GWh

The projected annual electricity output of wind farm Ivovik is 236.6 GWh, according to previous reports. This will be the third wind farm on the territory of the municipality of Tomislavgrad, the local authorities said following the meeting with representatives of the Chinese investors.

Projects to build wind farms Ivovik and Orlovača were approved by the FBiH government last year

In early 2020, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) gave the initial consent for issuing an energy permit for Ivovik, as well as for wind farm Orlovača, with a capacity of 42.9 MW, which are planned to be built in the municipalities of Tomislavgrad and Livno. The projected annual electricity production at Orlovača is 99 GWh.
