Germany’s GOPA Intec International Energy Consultants will be Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske’s (ERS) adviser in preparing project documents and overseeing the construction of wind farm Hrgud, the first to be developed by the Republic of Srpska’s state power utility.

An agreement with GOPA was signed by an ERS delegation led by Jovica Vlatković, the power utility’s head of investment and development, according to a statement from ERS.

Tender documents for the construction of the 48 MW wind farm will be prepared over the coming period. Annual electricity output at Hrgud is projected at 126 GWh.

A loan for the Hrgud project was approved by Germany’s KfW bank in 2016

The project is valued at EUR 64.3 million, with the German development bank KfW providing EUR 60 million and ERS securing the rest. KfW approved the loan in late 2016.

The Hrgud wind farm is one of ERS strategic projects, alongside hydropower plants Dabar, Buk Bijela, and Bistrica, as well as solar power plant Trebinje 1. The company plans to build a total of 1,000 MW of renewable energy capacities in the coming period.
