Croatia has issued public calls for EUR 12 million in subsidies aimed at increasing the use of solar, geothermal, and marine energy.

The three separate public calls were issued by the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds, and the subsidies will be funded under the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2014-2021. The subsidies will cover 85% of project costs.

The first public call, worth EUR 7.4 million, supports pilot projects for the installation of rooftop photovoltaic (PV) power plants, with the aim of increasing the installed capacity for harnessing solar energy.
