The cost-effectiveness of installing photovoltaic (PV) plants depends on a number of factors, including the choice of solar panels, which is very important given they make up about 60% of the investment, says Nino Sijerić, business development manager at Germany’s Luxor Solar. When choosing the brand of solar modules, it is very important to take into account the manufacturer’s presence on the local market, Sijerić said at a panel discussion called ‘Solar energy for the industry – reduce the costs, green your business!’, held as part of the First Big Conference on Solar Energy in Serbia, organized by Balkan Green Energy News.

Sijerić explained that the presence on the local market means that potential investors can communicate directly with Luxor Solar, as a manufacturer, and get advice and guidance on what is best and most cost-effective for them.

Also, a potential investor in a photovoltaic plant can visit someone who already uses solar panels of a certain brand and see first hand how it works, whether the user is satisfied, and what the production of energy looks like, according to him.

The region has made big strides in the field of solar energy

Sijerić also said he is very happy to see that the region has made big strides in the field of solar energy compared with 10 years ago, and that it is now possible to organize a conference of this kind to discuss the topic.

Luxor Solar manufactures solar modules for both household PV systems and utility-scale solar power plants, and its range of products includes both rooftop panels and those for ground-mounted plants.

The company also makes bifacial solar modules, which provide higher yields with the same surface area and installed capacity thanks to their capability to produce electrical energy on both surfaces, front and rear.

Luxor Solar’s panels have been installed in over 70 countries worldwide

Luxor Solar’s panels have been installed in over 70 countries worldwide, and the company’s production capacity is 800 MWp a year.

Established in 2007, Luxor Solar has been active in Balkan markets since 2011, where it has become leader by the number of solar modules sold.
