Developer Air Energy 2 will install two wind farms and a solar power plant with a combined capacity of 99.6 MW.

Kosovo’s transmission system operator KOSTT and Air Energy 2 have signed the agreements for the connection of the three facilities to the transmission system.

The power plants will be online by the end of 2024

The start of the construction of the power plants is planned for 2021, while they are expected to be commissioned by the end of 2024, according to KOSTT.

CEO of KOSTT Mustafa Hasani and director of Air Energy 2 Kenan Guler have signed the agreements for the connection of wind farms PE Kamenica-1 (34.8 MW) and PE Kamenica-2 (34.8 MW) and solar power plant PS Kamenica-3 (30 MW) to the grid.

Kosovo* currently has only one operational wind farm – Kitka

The three renewable energy projects will be connected to the 110 kV transmission network via a 110 kV line of about 25 kilometers, which will be connected to substation 110/10 (20) kV Gjilan 5.

Two wind farms are under construction

Kosovo* has only one wind farm – Kitka, with an installed capacity of 32.4 MW, which will be expanded by 20 MW. The power plant is developed by Air Energy, a subsidiary of Güriş Holding from Turkey.

Two wind farms are in the pipeline. Bajgora, with an installed capacity of 105 MW, is expected to come online in April, while Bondcom Energy Point is developing the Budakova wind power plant project of 46 MW.

* This designation is without prejudice to positions on status and is in line with UNSCR 1244/99 and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo declaration of independence.
