State owned power utility Elektroprivreda Bosne i Hercegovine (EPBIH) will secure EUR 72 million for the Vlašić wind farm through loans from the European Investment Bank and the KfW bank.

In February, EPBiH was granted a concession for Vlašić, obtaining the right to build, equip, use, and maintain the 48 MW wind power plant.

The government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has backed the initiative to acquire funds for the investment in renewable energy, the government said on its website.

The Vlašić wind farm will comprise up to 18 turbines, with a maximum combined capacity of 50 MW, and annual output at 115 GW over 25 years.

There are several wind power projects for the plateau of Vlašić and Galica.

The Vlašić wind farm is part of the EPBiH’s investment strategy, which involves developing solar power plants with a total installed capacity of 200 MW by 2025, CEO Admir Andelija said.
