The deadline to file offers to conduct a wind resource assessment for the Poklečani wind farm has been pushed back from July 10 to August 27, public power utility Elektroprivreda HZHB (EPHZHB) has announced.

The estimated value of the contract to produce the Poklečani wind resource assessment is BAM 22,000 (about EUR 11,250), with the most economically advantageous tender criterion to be applied.

EPHZHB invited bids to produce the wind resource assessment for the site in the Posušje municipality in June.

Concession agreement signed in 2014

EPHZHB was awarded a concession to build and operate the Poklečani wind farm five years ago, and the concession agreement was signed in June 2014, according to earlier reports. According to the agreement, the concessionaire is to build and operate 5 MW wind turbines on up to 36 locations at Poklečani.

In April 2010, the Government of the Federation of BiH (FBiH) adopted a decision for EPHZHB to “continue and intensify” preparations for building the Poklečani wind farm, with a capacity of 72 MW. According to that decision, the tentative deadline to complete the construction was end-2014.

In March 2018, EPHZHB put into operation the Mesihovina wind farm, the first in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with an installed capacity of 50.6 MW.

Operating profit down in H1

EPHZHB reported an operating profit of BAM 29.01 million (around EUR 14.8 million) in the first half of 2019, down from nearly BAM 39 million (some EUR 20 million) in H1 2018.

EPHZHB made a net profit of BAM 16.6 million (around EUR 8.5 million) in the entire 2018, when its electricity output reached 2,088.34 GWh. In 2017, its net profit stood at a mere BAM 237,441 (about EUR 121,400.
