Slovenia’s power company Holding Slovenske Elektrarne (HSE) has appointed Stojan Nikolić as the new director general and Viktor Vračar as the chief operating officer, while Boštjan Markoli was elected as a new president of the Supervisory Board.

The former director general Matjaž Marovt resigned at the end of the January, while the former president of the Supervisory Board Milan Perović resigned in mid-March.

Both resigned citing personal reasons.

At its 49th regular session, the Supervisory Board of Holding Slovenske elektrarne (HSE) unanimously appointed Stojan Nikolić the new director general of the company and Viktor Vračar the chief operating officer, both for a four-year term, HSE said in a news release.

The new director general will assume office on 1 April 2019, and the COO on May 1, 2019.

The new members of the Management Board of HSE were appointed in accordance with a procedure carried out by a recruitment agency. The staffing commission of the Supervisory Board of HSE interviewed all nominated candidates and proposed to the Supervisory Board of HSE a shortlist of 6 candidates.

Three were candidates for the director general and three for the COO. All 6 candidates also presented themselves and their visions for further development of the company at the Supervisory Board session.

“Stojan Nikolić and Viktor Vračar are experts with years of experience in business, both in Slovenia and internationally, including in the energy sector. The supervisors of HSE expect that they will justify our trust and immediately start realizing the set business and development objectives of the HSE Group,” said Boštjan Markoli, the new president of the Supervisory Board of HSE.

HSE recently adopted the Development Plan of the HSE Group for the 2019–2023 period with a vision until 2030.
