Slovenian state postal company Pošta Slovenije has signed an agreement on business cooperation in the field of e-mobility and green next-generation delivery solutions with energy trader GEN-I, with the aim of fully electrifying its fleet, according to a news release from Pošta Slovenije.

The e-mobility partnership will enable people and businesses to deliver packages in an environmentally-friendly way, helping improve air quality in city centers, Pošta Slovenije said, adding that the service will involve exclusively electric vehicles (EV), which will be supplied as much as possible with electricity produced from solar or other non-carbon energy sources, as well as the establishment of an appropriate EV charging infrastructure and a digital business model.

Through the partnership, which will result in the development of innovative green delivery services not yet available on the market, Pošta Slovenije and GEN-I seek to become a leading player in this field in the region, according to the news release.

The agreement was signed by Pošta Slovenije General Manager Boris Novak (third from left) and GEN-I CEO Robert Golob (second from left).

In related news, the government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) has adopted a proposed public investment plan for 2019-2021, which envisages, among other matters, the introduction of environmentally friendly vehicles into the fleet of postal operator BH Pošta.
