Eco Fund, controlled by the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning of Slovenia, placed an invitation for applications by citizens interested in installing autonomous devices for power supply on roofs.

The solar panels financed by a total of EUR 3 million can be mounted on objects with a building permit or adjacent simple facilities constructed according to standards, the statement said. The basic non-refundable incentives are planned for installations with nominal power of up to 11 kVA. The device must be elligible for connection to the grid. The fund will cover up to 20% of investment expenses but no more than EUR 180 per 1 kVA. The deadline for the completion of the project is 15 months after the money is approved.

Grants can also be approved to individuals who own electric vehicles and to municipal authorities which are building near zero energy projects. The environmental public fund said it also provides credit to citizens for environmental investments.

High demand among citizens in earlier programmes prompted the government vehicle to set another EUR 1 million for incentives for buyers of electric vehicles and EUR 5 million for local governments which plan to erect buildings of public importance. The last item, a scheme worth EUR 6 million, was expanded to EUR 10 million.
