The UK Export Finance agency and Bechtel will present suppliers registered in Britain with opportunities in the construction of the Skavica hydropower plant in Albania and other projects. The event will be held in London on October 20 and 21.

The United Kingdom’s Export Credits Guarantee Department or UK Export Finance (UKEF) is participating in the Skavica hydropower project in Albania, which is an opportunity for suppliers registered in Britain. Together with Bechtel, based in Reston, Virginia, the agency is organizing a supplier fair in London.

The event is scheduled for October 20 and 21. Suppliers can discuss export opportunities in the Skavica project and other endeavors with Bechtel’s procurement teams, according to the announcement.

UKEF said it would provide information on trade finance support. Companies can also attend the event online.

The Skavica project, with an envisaged capacity of 210 MW, involves the construction of a regulating dam along the Drin river, upstream from the Fierza hydropower plant. Bechtel was picked as the contractor. The facility will be run by Albania’s state-owned hydropower plant operator KESH.

Bechtel said it is interested in deals with companies active in civil and structural engineering and mechanical, construction equipment and electrical fields. The deadline for applications for the supplier fair expires on October 14.
