The European Commission unveiled the programme and launched the registration for the European Sustainable Energy Week – EUSEW 2026. This year’s event marks a special milestone: 20 years of bringing Europe’s energy community together to shape ‘A clean, secure and competitive Energy Union’ – as emphasised by this edition’s theme.
Through a co-created programme resulting from an open call, EUSEW gathers leading clean energy voices along with high-level speakers, such as Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen. A major highlight this year will be a June 9 panel, bringing together former European Commissioners Andris Piebalgs, Günther Oettinger, Miguel Arias Cañete and Kadri Simson, who shaped Europe’s energy policy in the past, to discuss – together with the current Commissioner Dan Jørgensen – how the continent’s priorities have evolved and what must come next amid a changing geopolitical and economic landscape.
Main pillars of European Sustainable Energy Week 2026
The EUSEW Policy Conference is the central hub of the event, held in a hybrid format in Brussels – at the European Commission conference center Charlemagne and NH Brussels EU Berlaymont hotel – and online. Running from Tuesday to Thursday, June 9-11, the three-day conference will feature high-level segments and 50 policy sessions hosted by energy stakeholders and the European Commission.
The sessions will explore a wide range of topics and solutions, encouraging debate on clean, secure and efficient energy, with a focus on new policy developments, best practices and innovative sustainable energy ideas.
On the opening day, the EUSEW Awards ceremony will recognise outstanding individuals and projects across three categories: Local Energy Action, Women in Energy and, for the first time this year, SMEs Driving Energy Efficiency. The new category highlights SMEs that have developed and deployed innovative business or financing models to advance energy efficiency solutions, particularly in buildings and industry.
The nine EUSEW Awards finalists will be announced with the launch of the online public vote on May 5, 2026, giving everyone the opportunity to help decide who will be celebrated on stage on 9 June.

A range of networking opportunities will be available for both onsite and online participants to connect with members of the sustainable energy community. Onsite participants can also take part in the EUSEW Energy Fair, which offers organisations, companies and associations the opportunity to showcase their initiatives directly at the event. This year, the fair will bring all attendees under one roof, entirely within the Charlemagne building.
During the Policy Conference, the outgoing and incoming cohorts of Young Energy Ambassadors – 60 passionate young people in total – will bring forward intergenerational perspectives on clean energy. These emerging experts from across Europe, already active in the clean and just energy transition, are selected for a one-year programme to represent the youth voice in sustainable energy policymaking.
The EUSEW spirit extends far beyond Brussels through the Sustainable Energy Days, held in the lead-up to the main event week. Hundreds of locally organised events showcase concrete clean energy actions across Europe and beyond.
The call to apply for the Sustainable Energy Day title is open, with submissions reviewed on a rolling basis, and closing on May 24, 2026, offering organisers a unique opportunity to gain visibility through the EUSEW community.

EUSEW 2026 will take place in a hybrid format, with both participants and speakers attending online and onsite in Brussels. Onsite attendance will take place in the European Commission’s conference centre Charlemagne and the NH Brussels EU Berlaymont hotel, with all sessions being livestreamed through the online event platform.

Invitation for participants, attendants
Public authorities, energy agencies, industry associations, businesses, civil society organisations, media, European institutions, research institutes, citizen groups, NGOs, SMEs and start-ups, national, regional and local authorities, consumer associations, citizens’ groups, youth associations and other energy stakeholders involved in leading the competitive, clean and fair energy transition in Europe are invited to join both onsite in Brussels and online.
