Croatian power exchange CROPEX has sold the entire amount of 320,232 guarantees of origin (GOs) from wind and biomass plants that are privileged power producers and receive incentives.

The auctions saw the highest price for guarantees this year – EUR 1.52, for guarantees from biomass.

At the last auctions, in May, CROPEX sold 356,253 guarantees of origin for biomass and wind energy. The highest price achieved then was EUR 1.5, again for guarantees from biomass.

Auctions were organized simultaneously on the CROPEX IT trading platform and these are the results:

  • A total of 142,823 guarantees were sold at the auction for electricity from wind power plants that started production since April 1, 2015; the guarantees are related to the electricity produced in May and June 2020; the price was 0,86 EUR/GO; the auction had 4 participants, but only 3 with winning bids.
  • A total of 97,861 guarantees were sold at the auction for electricity wind power plants that started producing electricity before April 1, 2015, for output in May and June 2020; the price per guarantee was EUR 0.16; there was 1 participant with a winning bid out of 3.
  • A total of 73,197 guarantees were sold at the auction for electricity produced in biomass plants with commissioning dates from April 1, 2015; the guarantees are for May and June 2020; the price was 1.52 EUR/GO; the auction had 4 participants while 2 gave winning bids.
  • A total of 6,351 guarantees were sold at the auction for biomass power plants that started generating electricity before April 1, 2015; the price of the guarantee for output in the first half of 2020 was EUR 0.14; there were 2 participants with winning bids out of 4.

The sale of guarantees of origin from biomass power plants was introduced in March.
