Chinese companies sell three solar power plants in Romania

Manufacturers of energy equipment and investors in solar power plants Jiangsu Zhongli, and ReneSola Energy have sold photovoltaic facilities with a total capacity of 21.4 MW.

Energy supplier Alive Capital is the new owner of a 6 MW PV plant after an agreement with Jiangsu Zhongli, while renewable energy producer Alternus Energy will acquire two PV plants with a total installed capacity of 15.4 MW. Alive Capital was founded in Romania, and Alternus Energy started its operation in the country.

Romania’s installed capacity of solar power plants is 1.4 GW.

According to the local media, Jiangsu Zhongli sold its facility, which was put in operation in 2016, for EUR 1.86 million. The plant is located in Izvin in Timiș county.

Alive Capital now owns four PV parks with an overall installed capacity of 11.7 MW

Through its subsidiary Alive Energy, Alive Capital now owns four PV parks with a total installed capacity of 11.7 MW. They are located in the counties of Dâmboviţa, Mureş, Prahova, and Timiș.

Alive Capital, established in 2013 by Giacomo Billi, is an electricity and gas supplier and trader.

Jiangsu Zhongli Sci-Tech Group manufactures a wide range of cables, solar cells, and constructs and operates solar PV parks, according to its website.

Alternus Energy’s portfolio consists of 22 solar PV parks in Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Romania

ReneSola Energy, the seller of the two PV facilities located in Costeștii din Vale in Dâmbovița and Dumbrava in Prahova, is also a manufacturer of equipment for solar power plants, namely solar panels, cells, and inverters, but also LED lighting products.

Alternus Energy is an Irish-American company. Led by CEO Vincent Browne, it was launched in 2016 with the acquisition of two solar PV parks with a total capacity of 6.1 MW. Now its portfolio consists of 22 solar PV parks in Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Romania, with a total installed capacity of 30 MW, according to its website. The company used to be called Power Clouds.
