The town of Aytos in Bulgaria announced a tender for the construction of a waste water treatment plant and supporting infrastructure with a total value of BGN 14.8 million (EUR 7.6 million).

The plant construction contract is worth EUR 6.6 million, while the infrastructure contract is worth around EUR 973.000, the town authorities said in a notification posted on the website of Bulgaria’s public procurement agency.

In addition to the construction of the plant, the first contract includes training of staff and supervision on the site. The second contract includes constructing a pipeline and connecting to the main collector.

The deadline for the completion of construction is set at two years for both contracts. Bids will be ranked according to the offered price, the timeframe for drafting the construction project and the date of completion of construction works.

The project will be financed from the European Union’s Operational Programme Environment for 2014-2020 and Bulgarian co-financing. The same EU programme financed the construction of a waste treatment facility in Sofia in 2015.
