The Clean Hydrogen Partnership launched a call for proposals with a budget of EUR 184.5 million for projects to support the creation of cutting-edge hydrogen technologies.
The call addresses key priorities identified by the Strategic Research Agenda within different areas of research and innovation, according to the Clean Hydrogen Partnership.
There are 19 topics available:
- 2 topics – EUR 80 million – Hydrogen Valleys
- 7 topics – EUR 40 million – Renewable Hydrogen Production
- 3 topics – EUR 17 million – Transport
- 3 topics – EUR 16 million – Hydrogen Storage and Distribution
- 3 topics – EUR 6.5 million – Cross-cutting
- 1 topic – EUR 5 million – Heat and Power
The European Commission said it earmarked another EUR 200 million for the Clean Hydrogen Partnership from the REPowerEU plan for doubling the number of hydrogen valleys in the European Union by 2025.
The budget within the current call includes EUR 80 million from the RePowerEU plan for hydrogen valleys. EUR 20 million is from the United Kingdom’s appropriations for support to projects in the reserve lists. The sum will be allocated according to the governing board’s strategic priorities, the announcement adds.
The Clean Hydrogen Partnership has three members
The submission system will be open from January 30 until April 23, the call reads.
Synergies with other European partnerships and programs, as well as with member states and regional programs are at the core of several topics.
The overall goal of the Clean Hydrogen joint undertaking is to support research and innovation activities in the EU, in the field of clean hydrogen solutions and technologies, under the EU’s new funding program for research and innovation, Horizon Europe and in synergy with other EU initiatives and programs.
The three members of the joint undertaking are the European Union, represented by the European Commission, the fuel cell and hydrogen industries represented by Hydrogen Europe and the research community represented by Hydrogen Europe Research.
