Serbia’s transmission system operator Elektromreža Srbije has announced that September 1 would mark the start of the new interval for the preparation of studies for the connection of power plants and other facilities to the transmission grid. The deadline to submit an application is August 1.

In line with the electricity delivery and supply decree, the next interval for the preparation of connection studies will begin on September 1, and last until December 31, Serbia’s TSO EMS said.

The company added that the deadline for submitting documentation for the upcoming interval is August 1.

Due to great interest and many questions from investors, EMS has decided to prepare a manual of sorts. The document includes information on the submission of the request to sign the contract for the preparation of the connection study.

Te previous interval was launched on December 20, 2023, and closed on April 20

The manual outlines how the necessary forms should be filled and answers the questions that investors asked during the previous interval, EMS stressed.

Detailed information on terms for connecting to the transmission network can be found on EMS’s website in the section Customers / Access to the transmission grid.

Of note, the previous interval was launched on December 20, 2023, and closed on April 20.

EMS has recently told Balkan Green Energy News that investors submitted bank guarantees for the connection of the 28 solar, wind, and hydropower projects and substations. Total planned capacity was 4 GW.
