N1, Sistem-MNE and Permonte, all based in Montenegrin capital Podgorica, signed a leasing contract for 203 hectares of state land for the Sinjajevina wind power project.

Montenegro has signed its third land lease for wind power projects. The Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property told Vijesti that a consortium got a 30-year contract for the Sinjajevina area of 203 hectares.

The consortium of companies N1, Sistem-MNE and Permonte, all registered in Podgorica, was the only bidder for the land in Šavnik municipality. It consists of 17 lots of infertile and pasture land in the cadastral municipalities of Baon, Timar, Krnja Jela and Tušinja.

The initial price at the auction held on March 1 was EUR 569,500 per year. The sum will be adjusted for inflation on an annual basis, according to the propositions. By taking the land on lease, the consortium agreed to design, build, operate and maintain a wind power plant that would consist of units with a maximum capacity of 6.6 MW each.

Sinjajevina or Sinjavina is Montenegro’s biggest mountain range. It spans the municipalities of Kolašin, Šavnik, Žabljak and Mojkovac.

Under the same model, Energy 2 is developing the Sinjajevina – Part 1 project in Kolašin. The facility is planned to consist of 17 turbines with a total of 112.2 MW. The government issued the urban planning and technical requirement documentation in December.

Similarly, Alcazar Energy took land on lease last year for the Bijela wind farm project of 118 MW, also in Šavnik. Notably, Sistem-MNE is involved in the endeavor. In January, the ministry issued a call for bids for the lease of 150 hectares in the Korita area in the municipality of Bijelo Polje for the same purpose.
