The II Regional Conference RE-Source Croatia Hub 2024, dedicated to the development of power purchase agreements (PPAs), will be held on March 15 at the Sheraton Hotel in Zagreb.

Last year’s edition, RE-Source Croatia, hosted about 350 participants from Croatia, the region, and the European Union. Balkan Green Energy News is the media sponsor for the second year in a row.

“Does your industry, company, or city need green energy? The solution is to look for a power producer from renewable energy sources and agree on the direct purchase of electricity by signing a PPA contract,” said the Renewable Energy Sources of Croatia association (RES Croatia or, in Croatian, OIEH), which is organizing the conference.

The event will be held in cooperation with the European RE-Source Platform.

The European PPA market is in great expansion. It reached a record 16.2 GW in disclosed contracted volumes last year and, according to Pexapark, entered its golden era last year.

After Croatia, Bulgaria, Austria and Romania entered the PPA market in 2022, Hungary, Slovenia and Portugal joined it last year.

Annie Scanlan from the RE-Source Platform and minister Damir Habijan will open the conference

The conference will be opened by Annie Scanlan, Policy and Impact Director of the European RE-Source Platform, and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Damir Habijan. In his introductory presentation, Dries Acke, the Policy Director of SolarPower Europe, the European umbrella organization for solar energy, will outline what the European eletricity market reform brings (Agenda).

RES Croatia, the holder of the RE-Source Platform for Croatia and the region, aims to share knowledge and experience in concluding PPAs. RE-Source Croatia Hub 2024 represents a unique opportunity in the entire region to hear the most important information on the topic from the main players in the European and regional PPA market.

The European Commission sees PPAs as key to achieving the goals of the European Green Deal, RES Croatia said.

The partners of the conference are WindEurope and SolarPower Europe.

Representatives of the Re-Source Platform, WindEurope, SolarPower Europe and RECS Energy Certificate Association have all confirmed their presence, RES Croatia said.

Opportunity for B2B meetings

The conference will this time host B2B meetings in a separate space (Registration for the II. Regional Conference RE-Source Croatia HUB 2024).

Such meetings offer a unique opportunity for renewable energy buyers and clean energy producers to connect and find partners for meeting their energy needs, the organizers noted.

No later than five days before the conference, each participant will receive an email with instructions for downloading the mobile application through which they can register, schedule B2B meetings during the conference and receive important information.
