Postgraduates, researchers from all energy-related fields, and young professionals from government institutions, companies, and non-governmental organizations, we have good news for you! The Energy Community Secretariat is once again organizing its Summer School this year, providing an opportunity to expand your knowledge in the field of energy.

The eighth Energy Community Summer School will take place from July 20 to 27 at the Technical University of Moldova, located in the capital city of Chișinău.

As in previous years, it focuses on energy sectors undergoing transition, especially in Southeastern and Eastern Europe. The program will cover a broader geographical context in Europe and possibly beyond.

The school aims to enable participants to understand energy sectors and promote skill development in all energy-related topics. The program includes courses, guest lectures, and social and cultural activities. In addition to theoretical elements, the curriculum involves practical training through case studies and simulated scenarios. The best-performing group will receive an award.

Applications are open until March 31

If you are interested, submit your application by March 31. You need to fill out the application form with a brief essay on energy policy. The Energy Community Secretariat will select candidates in consultation with academic and research institutions of participating countries.

As for the criteria, eligible are postgraduate students (master’s and doctoral), researchers from various fields and experts from government institutions, energy companies, and non-governmental organizations, all up to 35 years of age.

Participation is free

In addition to European Union citizens, free participation is provided for the citizens of Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo*, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and Turkey. A total of 48 participants will be selected.

This year’s Summer School is organized with the Visegrad Fund, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung – Dialogue Southeast Europe (FES SOE) Foundation, the Polis University, and the Technical University of Moldova.

Students who complete the summer school will receive three ECTS credits.

* This designation is without prejudice to positions on status and is in line with UNSCR 1244/99 and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo declaration of independence.
