GIZ is looking for a consultant to help the Western Balkans take advantage of the opportunities for new jobs during the energy transition. The development agency has launched a call for expressions of interest.
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH said it would select a service provider, a legal entity registered in the Western Balkans, for the needs of the project “Green Agenda – Decarbonization of the Electricity Sector in Western Balkans”: Understanding labor markets and qualifications needs in the energy sector & improving a professional market for more “Green Jobs” in the Western Balkans.
The objective of the assignment is to deliver various analytical assignments and practical concepts to technical and vocational education and training education (TVET) organizations in the region focusing on employment opportunities along the renewable energy transition.

According to the development agency, green jobs are essential for the Western Balkans’ energy transition, driving sustainable development and reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
New profiles of technicians and specialists will not only diversify the energy sector but also create new employment opportunities for youngsters and experienced professionals alike, all in all, fostering the region’s economic growth, GIZ said.
By investing in human capital for more green employment, the region can better align with the European Green Deal policies and upskill professionals to work on electricity market integration with the European Union.
Eligible to apply are legal entities registered in a country in the Western Balkans
To qualify, an applicant must be a legal entity registered in a country in the Western Balkans. The minimum average net annual turnover over the last three financial years is BAM 176,024.70 or EUR 90,000.
Eligible consultants have at least five employees, GIZ said.
The reference list must include at least two projects in socio-economic research in the employment sector, and at least two related to the objective of the call in the European region in the last three years.
The technical assessment is only based on reference projects with a minimum commission value of EUR 10,000 or BAM 19,558.30, GIZ said.

The documentation must be sent to the GIZ office by December 12 by post to Zmaja od Bosne 7-7a, 71000 Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, proceeding number 83454057.
The selected companies will be contacted and invited to participate in the procedure after the evaluation of received letters of interest, GIZ said.
