Public road management company Roads of Serbia has launched a public call for the selection of partners for financing and the installation of 16 green stations for electric vehicles at existing rest areas and parking lots on the highways Subotica-Preševo, Belgrade-Šid, Niš-Dimitrovgrad, and Miloš Veliki.

Serbia is looking for a financier for the implementation of the Green Stations project, which involves the construction and operation of supporting facilities along the highways at existing rest areas and parking lots. The call is for chargers for electric vehicles, restaurants, service stations, shops and other elements.

It includes financing of the development of project design and the construction of auxiliary facilities, as well as the installation of at least five EV chargers with a single minimum capacity of 150 kW.

The total estimated value of the Green Station project is EUR 6.6 million

The total estimated value of the Green Station project is EUR 6.6 million, the public call reads.

However, after the construction of all the supporting facilities in question, a commission authorized by Roads of Serbia (Putevi Srbije) will determine the real value of the project based on an assessment of the conducted works, according to the documentation.

The company will also enable the financier to use and operate the supporting facilities for a period of 15 years, with the possibility of extending the period. The financier would have to pay a fee, as defined by the Law on the Use of Public Property.

The financier must have at least one contract on the installation and commissioning of fast electric chargers

Among other requirements, eligible bidders have “the financial capacity,” as Roads of Serbia put it, in a total amount of at least EUR 6.6 million over the last three years, and no loss recorded in the same period.

In addition, the future financier will have successfully implemented at least one contract for the installation and commissioning of fast electric vehicle chargers with a minimum capacity of 150 kW each.

The deadline for submitting the bids is November 24.
