Primary school ’Olga Petrov’ in the Belgrade northern suburb of Padinska Skela has been reconstructed respecting the standards of energy efficiency. This project is a part of EUR 8 million project developed and implemented by Swiss Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), city of Belgrade and the Government of Serbia, the Serbian capital’s portal reported last week.

The project, still in progress, consists of three parts – construction of a biomass-fired combined heat and power plant (CHP), an infrastructural energy and hot water distribution network and energy efficiency increase in the Olga Petrov primary school and the Psychiatric Clinic Dr Laza Lazarević, a Secretary of the Energy Secretariat of the City of Belgrade Marko Stojanovic explained.

The school will use up less energy as it has a new façade, boiler room and hot water distribution system, automatic heating control system and improved lighting system. The renovation also included construction works on the water supply system, sewerage and electric power grid.
