Applications for the Energy Community Summer School 2023 are now open. The Energy Community Secretariat will hold this year’s summer school in Belgrade, from August 19 to 26. Graduate students, researchers, and young professionals from government institutions, companies, research centers, and NGOs have until March 31 to apply.

The summer school focuses on energy sectors in transition, especially in Southeast and Eastern Europe. The school aims to enable participants to understand the energy sectors and promote the development of skills in all energy-related topics. The school program consists of a combination of courses, guest lectures, and social and cultural activities.

The Summer School targets highly motivated postgraduate students (masters or PhD), researchers from all energy-related disciplines, young professionals from governmental institutions, companies, think tanks, NGOs and other relevant areas.

Participation is free of charge, and the summer school will take place from August 19 to 26 at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Belgrade, Serbia. This year’s program will be published online soon.

48 young people up to 35 years of age will have the opportunity to participate

To participate, you will need to fill in the application form through which you are required to submit a short paper on topics of energy policy.

The Energy Community Secretariat, in consultation with the academic and research institutions of the participating countries, will choose the best candidates based on the selection criteria.

This year’s Summer School is organized in cooperation with the Višegrad Fund, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung – Dialogue Southeast Europe (FES SOE), and the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Belgrade.

Every year, members of the Energy Community take turns as hosts of the Summer School. This is the seventh time the Energy Community Secretariat has organized the Summer School. The first one was held in Tirana in 2016, and last year it took place in Sarajevo.
