ERG Renewables plans to install a 300 megawatt (MW) photovoltaic power plant in the municipality of Kladovo, in the east of Serbia.

Solar power plant Kladovo Solar Gate should be built on agricultural land in the eastern part of the municipality, on a plateau above the town and the Danube valley, according to the zoning plan for the area of the Kladovo Solar Gate project, reported eKapija.

The zoning plan is in an early phase of public consultation. The location of the plant is five kilometers from the center of Kladovo.

Of note, this is the second-largest planned investment in solar energy in Serbia, right after the announced Agrosolar project, with a capacity of 660 MW.

The owner of ERG Renewables is a firm called ERG Investments LTD, registered in Cyprus.

The zoning plan regulates an area of around 694 hectares and covers parts of the cadastral municipalities of Vajuga, Kladovo, Rečica, Podvrška, and Kladušnica.

The plan was prepared by Arhiplan from Aranđelovac, and is up for public consultation until November 1.
