American electric vehicle producer Rivian will open a development center in Serbia’s capital Belgrade. In the first phase, the startup will hire 200 employees.

Rivian, which was founded in 2009, has already published job ads for establishing a team in Serbia. The company founded by Robert Joseph Scaringe manufactures electric SUVs and pickups. It has also created a flexible skateboard platform for the development of EVs, and developed two models: R1S and R1T.

The job ads can be found on the company’s website.

Cindy Nicola, Vice President, Talent Acquisition at Rivian, told Netokracija that the company is excited about opening a development center in Serbia.

Rivian: we are looking for curious and courageous people

Rivian’s intention, as she explained, is to establish a modern technology center in Serbia that will contribute to the creation of leading products and services on the global market.

Rivian will open positions for highly qualified personnel in the region, Nicola added.

Of note, the start-up made a deal with Mercedes-Benz a week ago to establish a joint company for the production of electric vans. The factory should be built in a few years in Europe.

In the job ads, Rivian says it is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. “This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract,” the firm said.

Automotive giant Ford invested USD 500 million in Rivian last year.
