President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić denied media reports that the process of transforming state-owned power utility Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) to a joint stock company is a prelude to a sale of the public enterprise.

“It is a bald-faced lie. No one considered such a possibility. Nor would it cross our minds. Anyone who would do it at this moment would be very stupid and he would directly work against our country’s interests. We are looking at buying some of the electric power industries of other countries. So it’s not just that we are not selling EPS, we want to buy,” President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić stated at the inauguration of a section of the Belgrade city road bypass.
